London je gledano s strani stroškov precej luksuzno mesto, zato so redki takšni, ki se tam odpravijo za več tednov. S fantom sva se v London odpravila za 4 dni, saj sva bila s časom omejena zaradi službenih obveznosti. Ker sva bila tako omejena s časom, sva vse dneve letala iz enega konca na drugega, en dan pa sva posebej posvetila obisku najbolj slovitih turističnih točk po Londonu. Sama nisem pretirana navdušenka tipičnih turističnih kulturnih znamenitosti, saj največkrat ogled teh pomeni, da se boš prerival z Azijci, ki pa jih očara že smetnjak. Vseeno, pa je ogled glavnih turističnih točk obveza vsakega turista.
London can be an expensive place and especially if you plan to visit it for more than just a couple of days. My boyfriend and I went to London for 4 days, which is just enough time to get to know the city well. Since we were so limited with time, we spent our entire trip running from one place to another. I am not a fan of visiting typical touristic attractions when on holidays, but you can't actually visit London without seeing some of the most world known beauties. I am presenting you 6 must-see London attractions.
BIG BEN
Ob izstopu iz postaje podzemne železnice Westminster, lahko takoj ob pogledu navzgor zagledaš Big Ben. Glede na to, da ga preurejajo, od Big Bena nisva videla prav veliko. Prenove so predvidene vsaj do leta 2022, zato je malo verjetnosti, da si boš kaj kmalu lahko ogledala to skulpturo umetnosti. V okolici je veliko čudovitih točk, iz katerih lahko v objektiv ujameš Big Ben, a bodi pripravljena, da boš na najboljše lokacije morala počakati v vrsti.
Ogled po notranjosti bo možen šele, ko se končajo prenove, a kljub temu, je za ogled znotraj objekta potrebno pridobiti dovoljenje, za katerega pa lahko zaprosijo, le prebivalci Londona.

LONDON EYE
Le nekaj korakov stran od Big Bena lahko na drugi strani reke zagledaš London Eye. London Eye je vrtiljak, ki ti nudi pogled nad celim mestom in Londonu predstavlja to, kar predstavlja Eifflov stolp Parizu. Ker je čakalni čas predolg, sva se odločila, da se ne popeljeva na tem razglednem vrtiljaku. V kolikor, pa si ti želiš vožnje nad mestom, ti priporočam, da pred odhodom karto kupiš na spletu in tako prihraniš nekaj denarja.
Cena: 32€ (minimalna cena, ki je možna le v primeru rezervacija preko spleta. V kolikor želiš imeti skrajšani čakalni čas, pa je cena še za 10€ višja)

Najvišje na mojem spisku znamenitosti je bila Buckinghamska palača, saj me še vedno tako kot majhno punčko navdušujejo kraljice in princese, verjetno veliko bolj od kraljev ali princev. Želela, pa sem, da najin ogled ni le gledanje stavbe, ampak nekaj več. Ker sva zamudila kraljeve poroke, za rojstvo Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsora pa sva bila prehitra, sem nama poiskala tretjo opcijo. Menjava kraljeve straže pred Buckinghamsko palačo je turstičen spektakel in poteka vsake dva dni (termini so javno objavljeni na tej strani). Predlagam, da se na dogodek odpraviš vsaj eno uro prej in si tako omogiš boljši razgled. Ob 10:45 se uradno prične dogajanje, pravi del protokola pa 15 min kasneje. Vse skupaj traja malo več kot eno uro, a ker sva se želela izogniti množici tudi na poti nazaj, sva se odpravila nekoliko minut pred koncem. Tudi po končani menjavi se okoli palače še vedno gibljejo množice turistov, zato sva se odločila, da palačo obiščeva še enkrat v popoldanskem času, ko je bilo v okolici nekoliko manj gneče.

Trafalgar trg in Nelsonov stolp, ki stoji na njem sta velikega pomena za London. Stolp, ki je bil zgrajen v spomin na zmago lorda Nelsona nad francoskim in španskim na Trafalgaru leta 1805 je del kulturne dediščine Londona. Na trgu lahko začutiš tisto čisto pravo vzdušje tega mesta. Trg obdajajo skulpture, kipi, fontane in ulični zabavljači. Obkrožajo, pa ga tudi galerije, ena izmed največjih, pred katero tudi stoji park, je čudovita Narodna galerija (The National Gallery).

The highest on my list of tourist attractions in London was the Buckingham Palace. I am just like a little girl, still impressed by queens and princesses, probably even more than of kings and princes. However, I didn't want our visit to Buckingham Palace to be just watching one large building. I wanted it to be more special and since we missed all the royal weddings and Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor wasn't born yet, I had to find another entertainment. So I checked the dates of the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace (dates are publicly posted on this page). Changing the guard takes place every two days and is a tourist spectacle, so make sure you are in front of the palace for at least an hour earlier. It's a fun and interesting event.

Nelson's Column is a monument in Trafalgar Square and was built to commemorate Admiral Horatio Nelson, who died at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Trafalgar Square will be remembered in my mind as an extremely crowded place but still, somehow it manages to show you the real atmosphere of London. The square is surrounded by sculptures, statues, fountains and street entertainers. Around one of the most famous squares in London you can find many galleries, one of the largest ones, in front of which the park is located, is a beautiful The National Gallery.

Eden izmed najslavnejših mostu na svetu je nedvomno dvižni most Tower Bridge, ki stoji nad reko Temzo in ob utrdbi Tower of London. Most je izjemno prometen, zato je fotografiranje na njem oteženo. Še boljši razgled na sam most dobiš, če se sprehodiš pod njim po nabrežju, kjer pa se nahajajo tudi številni lokali in restavracije, za vse lačne trebuščke. Na voljo, pa so tudi bolj prestižne trgovine s s spominki, kjer je kakovost teh zbiralcev prahu nedvomno višja kot v ostalih podobnih trgovinah.

Tower of London je utrdba, ki stoji ob mostu Tower Bridge in reki Tenzi, dal pa ga je zgraditi Vilijem Osvajalec že okoli leta 1080. Gre za velik kompleks, sestavljen iz številnih delov, najbolj slovita pa je nedvomno Bela Trdnjava oziroma White Tower. Tower of London je znan kot ena najbolj neosvojljivih trdnjav v Evropi, zaradi svoje velikosti, lokacije in sestave. Ogled je možen skozi večino predela te zgradbe, a ker sva bila na najinem izletu turističnih atrakcij že nekoliko utrujena, sva se odločila, da notranjost izpustiva.

Tower Bridge is one of the most famous bridges in the world. It is a bascule and suspension bridge on River Thames. With its two Renaissance towers on each side and bright blue color, this bridge becomes one of the most famous symbols of London. It was named after the Tower of London, next to which it's located. The bridge is extremely busy with all the traffic, which makes creating cute Instagram shots quite difficult. The best way to get the perfect view of the bridge is to go down the stairs from the side of the bridge and walk along the river underneath it. Down there you can find a variety of restaurants and also a bit more prestigious souvenir shops.

Tower of London is a fort that stands next to the Tower Bridge and on the north bank of the River Thames. It was built by William the Conqueror in 1078 and was a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new ruling elite. It is a large complex, but the White Tower is no doubt the most famous part of this building. Tower of London is known as one of the most powerful palaces in entire Europe. You can visit the majority of the tower, but since we were already tired of our trip, we decided to just take a look at the outside of it.

BIG BEN
When you visit the Westminster Metro Station and you look up you can immediately see Big Ben in front of you. Because it's under construction, we did not see much of it and we even won't be able to at least until 2022. There are many wonderful locations for photography in that area but don't be surprised if you have to wait for a few minutes in the line for your turn.
You can only see Big Ben from the outside, a tour through the inside will be available after reconstructions are finished and even then only residents of London get the permission.

LONDON EYE
Just a few steps away from Big Ben, you can see the London Eye on the other side of the river. London Eye is a carousel that gives you a perfect view of the entire city. London Eye is to London what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris. Since the price of the flight is too expensive and the waiting time is too long, we decided not to take this sightseeing carousel. In case you want to get a birds perspective over the city, I recommend you to buy tickets online and save yourself some money.
